A native Texan, Whitney grew up in North Side-Houston, attending Houston ISD schools, while her family owned and operated small businesses. In her youth, she learned the value of self-reliance, personal responsibility, and integrity.

Whitney was always driven to learn and work. Desiring independence and autonomy, she eagerly entered the workforce at a young age. After graduating from the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, Whitney earned a degree in Elementary Education from The University of Houston-Downtown. She began her career as a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School while she continued her education at UHD, earning her first Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction.

Whitney moved to the Cypress area in 2001 and later accepted a position in Tomball ISD. She obtained a second Master’s Degree, in Educational Administration through Sam Houston State University. She continues her service as an educator in Tomball ISD today, where she is a well-respected member of her professional community.

Although most of Whitney’s professional experience has been in public education, she is no stranger to the private sector. Whitney has worked with a farm implement company, a land planning firm, as well as a major energy corporation. Through her professional experience, both in public service and private business, she has acquired skills that serve her well when it comes to representing the education interests of families, communities, and the workplace in Texas.

Over the years, many people have urged Whitney to seek public office.  Those who know Whitney cannot deny her commitment to Liberty for All and her faith in Texas to lead this nation. She sees no greater honor than to represent her family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues as a member of the Texas State Board of Education.
